Douglas J. Schroeder is a 1971 graduate of Michigan State University and a 1975 graduate of the University of Detroit. He has practiced law in Oakland County since 1975. Prior to being admitted to both the State of Michigan and Federal bars, he was a clerk for judges in the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts.

Mr. Schroeder concentrates his general practice in the tri-county area and specializes in family law, criminal law, probate and estate planning, personal injury, and real estate. He has litigated matters involving property division, custody, visitation/parenting time, outside domicile changes for children and support enforcement. Additionally, he has successfully litigated matters from the most severe felonies to minor traffic offenses.

Mr. Schroeder has served as president of the South Oakland County Bar Association (1987), the Troy Rotary Club (1986) and has been a member of the Troy Economic Development Corp. Currently, he is a member of the Troy Downtown Development Authority. Mr. Schroeder is also a member of the Oakland County Bar Association and serves as a case evaluator.

He has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating.
